And how couldn't you? All who have been in a room with her have heard her name, her laugh. Always sidling up next to strangers as though she has known them all her life, always grinning. It's no wonder such a charismatic young woman would be beloved amongst even the strangest bands of people.
Val is a sky pirate by trade, though little else is truly common knowledge about her. When she isn't in the clouds, she's often found picking up odd jobs— of the less savory variety, generally.

The truth is, Valentine wasn't her first given name. Aurelia Valentine, that's the name the man who bought her chose in the same breath with which he discarded any she had been called before it. Val was young then, but old enough to know the pain of being stripped of the last thing she had left from her family. And old enough to know that she would be an idiot to ever speak it again. She had been barely a teenager when she fled Gyr Abania, taking up whatever dirty work she could find. She joined an odd group of sky pirates as a last ditch hope to make something of herself, and has preferred the sky ever since.
